DBC manufactured 42,000-sq.-ft. of X-Series EIFS and MCM panels for the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU Expansion project. The “Wonder Tower” is a 16-story, 500,000-sq.-ft. space for inpatient, emergency/trauma, and outpatient care. The infrastructure also has an above-street bridge to the main hospital branch.
The expansion was initiated due to high patient demand during the height of COVID-19. In addition, the jobsite had limited lay-down space and tight working constraints.
DBC's prefabricated, off-site manufacturing approach accelerated the project schedule, maximized safety and reduced noise pollution to the surrounding community.
